Haramain Sharifain Condemns BJP Leader’s Blasphemous Remarks

The Haramain Sharifain has strongly condemned the blasphemous remarks of a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) about Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement issued on Twitter, the Haramain Sharifain strongly condemned the blasphemy of the last prophet of Islam.

It also called upon the “international organisations to stop elements that create communal tension and take steps to prevent the spread of Islamophobia and promote religious harmony.”

It should be noted that the Telangana’s BJP MLA T Raja Singh was arrested following his derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad. However, he has been granted bail in less than 24 hours.

There had been widespread protest in India against the BJP’s leader, calling for action against him.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM)’s chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the India’s ruling party needs to stop doing this.

“Has it become their official policy that they aren’t satisfied with Nupur Sharma and they are making other MLAs say things? People are angry. People have tears in their eyes,” he said.

Why are they saying things like this about Prophet Muhammad? Our demand is that the BJP should stop doing all this. People can see how much you hate the Prophet,” Owaisi added.

In a video posted on social media, Singh, in an apparent reference to the Prophet, said an “elderly man had married a girl decades his junior.”

Yesterday, the BJP suspended him for violating the party’s code. “I have been directed to convey to you that pending further inquiry, you are suspended from the party and from your responsibilities with immediate effect,” said a notice.
