Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) – Ramiz Raja – is all set to be sacked by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government.
A summary was moved by the Ministry of Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) on Tuesday to replace Asad Ali Khan and Ramiz Raja with Najam Sethi and Shakil Sheikh in the PCB Governing Board.
Ever since the new government took charge, there has been uncertainty surrounding Raja’s future.
It should be recalled that he was appointed the PCB’s boss by ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Former chairman PCB Najam Sethi is all set to return to head the affairs of the cricket board.
According to sources, he had meeting on Tuesday with top government officials. The summary to remove Ramiz Raja and Asad Ali Khan from the PCB Governing Board was prepared in his presence.
A source privy to the matter told a local media outlet that the summary has been sent to PM Shehbaz Sharif for approval.
Following the nod of cabinet members, the PM will most likely appoint Najam Sethi as chairman PCB.
“Yes, he stayed at the Ministry office till late Tuesday. He was accompanied by another individual also,” the source confirmed.
