Few days ago, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif made some shocking claims in the national assembly of Pakistan.
The Minister claimed that the daughters of one of the top bureaucrats in Punjab had received billions of rupees in Salaami on their weddings.
Ever since then, everyone on social media has been curious about the identity of the bureaucrat. Now, renowned journalist Bilal Ghauri has revealed the identity of the mysterious bureaucrat.
In his YouTube Vlog, the journalist claimed that the person whom Khawaja Muhammad Asif mentioned in his speech is the former Principle Secretary of ex-CM Punjab, Usman Buzdar.
Tahir Khurshid remained as Buzdar’s Principle Secretary and is famously known as “TK”, according to Bilal Ghauri.
He added that one of his daughters got married in March 2021, when he was still serving on the all important post.
Regarding his relationship with Buzdar, Ghauri said that the two became close when Tahir Khurshid was serving as Commissioner in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Later, Buzdar appointed him as his principle secretary. The journalist also claimed that there was a fixed rate of transfers and postings of different positions.
“When his corruption became talk of the town, Anti Corruption Punjab and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) swung into action against him,” he said.
However, in August 2021, he was transferred to the Establishment Division, where he was appointed as Additional Secretary of National Food Security and Research Division.
Later he was appointed as the secretary of National Food Security and Research Division on February 18th 2022.
Tahir Khurshid was cleared of all the allegations of corruption against him during the time of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
It should be noted that the former CM Punjab was the one who had told Khawaja Asif about a bureaucrat’s daughters receiving billions in salaami.
