A 33-year-old American woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson from New York, has refused to leave Pakistan after a 19-year-old Karachi resident allegedly lured her into a romantic relationship.
Robinson, who was previously married and is reportedly the mother of two, applied for a Pakistani visa on October 5, 2024, and was granted a one-month tourist visa on October 9.

She arrived in Karachi on October 11, hoping to marry Nidal Memon, a young man from the Garden West area. However, upon learning of her background, Memon’s family strongly opposed the marriage, leading him to back out.
The woman’s unexpected arrival shocked Memon’s parents, who were taken aback by the significant age difference, her divorce, and the fact that she had children.
As her visa neared its expiration, authorities attempted to send Robinson back, but she created a scene at Karachi Airport, refusing to go through immigration.
Security personnel escorted her to the departure lounge, yet she declined to board her flight, delaying the plane’s departure by 36 minutes. Due to security protocols, officials could not forcibly put her on the plane.
