In a recent consultative meeting at University of Health Sciences (UHS), key stakeholders including Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore, heads of affiliated medical colleges, and medical education experts made several decision.
Those decisions were related to the new modular curriculum for medical colleges.
The interval between annual examination results and the start of supplementary examinations has been reduced from 40 days to just 21 days among the changes approved.
Under the modular curriculum, attendees discussed and agreed upon new requirements for medical students.
It has been made mandatory for students to achieve a minimum of 50% marks in the college block exams moving forward.
These changes are set to go into effect at the start of the 2022-23 academic year and represent a significant shift in the way medical education is delivered at UHS.
