In a first-of-its-kind move, Faisalabad police have registered a case against a motorcyclist for exceeding the 60km/h speed limit, making it the first such enforcement in Punjab.
The rider, identified as Rehan, was caught speeding on Bagh-e-Jinnah Road. According to police, his reckless driving posed a serious risk to public safety, leading to immediate legal action.

To ensure strict compliance with speed limits, the Punjab Traffic Police have been directed to enforce the 60km/h speed cap for motorcycles. A formal letter has been issued instructing traffic officers to take action against violators.
Following orders from the Additional Inspector General (Traffic), the Punjab Traffic SSP has instructed all district officers to monitor motorcycle speeds. Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) across Punjab, including Lahore, have been tasked with implementing the new measures.
Authorities will use Safe City cameras and speed guns to track violations. Plans are also in place to purchase additional speed guns to improve monitoring.
Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against motorcyclists who violate the speed limit, as part of efforts to enhance road safety across the province.
