Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has made some shocking claims about the killing of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
He insisted that the Kenyan police shouldn’t be blamed for his murder.
The National Police Service (NPS) had earlier admitted its mistake of shooting the journalist in a case of mistaken identity.
According to the former governor, the police were “tricked” into killing Sharif, who thought he was involved in stealing the car.
Mike Sonko made a huge claim about a Pakistani killer squad trailing the journalist due to a money laundering investigation he was working on, which was allegedly going to ”expose a money-laundering syndicate that operates car showrooms in Nairobi and Mombasa.”
He further claimed that the money-laundering syndicate also involved Pakistan politicians.
“He was about to release a documentary entitled ” Behind closed doors” which was implicating how Pakistan politicians and members of the Pakistan deep state and system launder money using international financial systems,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Sonko is convinced that the Kenyan police officers who shot at Arshad Sharif are innocent as they were given false information about a stolen car.
