Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expanded the government’s loan scheme to help students purchase laptops, offering them an opportunity to improve their academic and professional skills.

Eligibility Criteria
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that students between the ages of 18 and 30, currently enrolled in Higher Education Commission (HEC)-approved institutions, are eligible to apply for a loan to purchase laptops.
The loans will be available at a KIBOR plus 3% interest rate for a period of four years.
Students can apply for loans ranging from Rs 150,000 to Rs 450,000, which will be repaid alongside their university tuition fees.
This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and equip students with the necessary tools to enhance their learning experience in today’s increasingly tech-driven world.
