For the last couple of days, social media has been abuzz with the rumours of appointment of a new Director General (DG) Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
According to the rumours, Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz has been posted as the new intelligence chief, replacing Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum.
Furthermore, it was also claimed that Lieutenant General Nouman Zakria has been appointed as Chairman NADRA.
However, both these rumours are false. Journalist Waseem Abbasi, citing defense sources, said that the news regarding the appointment of the two military officials on the important positions are fake.
It should be noted that the rumours spread on social media after a digital media outlet “The Verified” posted a screenshot of journalist Fereeha Idrees’ tweet.
However, the journalist clarified that the tweets circulated in her name regarding the two important postings is fake.
“Any announcement for official postings or anything related to that, will be via official account of DG ISPR,” she added.
She requested to ignore the fake accounts and reports those who are spreading.
