A young resident of Nagar has found the body of a mountaineer near Rakaposhi base camp, in Minapin, Nagar, said multiple reports.
Preliminary information available indicate the the body might be of an Autrian citizen who had gone missing in 1984 during an expedition.
The young local was able to reach near the body, but couldn’t bring it back because the terrain is difficult.
Rescue 1122 and Nagar Police officials have left to recover the body.
The body appears to have surfaced after fresh melting of snow.
Rakaposhi is a 7,788 meters high peak located in Nagar district.
