Great news for Pakistani citizens applying for U.S. visas, as reported by ARY News. The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad has taken steps to reduce visa appointment wait times due to the high demand for U.S. visas.
According to their official announcement on their Twitter account, they are processing more visa applications than ever and are committed to shortening the wait times.
To achieve this, the U.S. has introduced three measures for Pakistani visa applicants to address this unprecedented demand:
1. Thousands of non-immigrant visa appointments in Karachi, originally scheduled for 2024, have been expedited. Many applicants are now receiving rescheduled appointments in 2023, some as early as next week.
Applicants with upcoming appointments in Karachi are advised to check their email and log in to the embassy’s website for confirmation.
2. Pakistani travelers and visa applicants now have the flexibility to rebook appointments at either the Consulate General in Karachi or the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, based on their convenience.
3. Starting September 25, the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi will accept new interview waiver applications for some applicants who have previously received U.S. visas.
Eligible applicants can check ustraveldocs.com/pk for confirmation, and they can submit their materials to a drop box without needing an appointment.
The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is already accepting interview waiver applications for qualified applicants.
This initiative builds upon the U.S. Embassy’s efforts to facilitate visa delivery for Pakistani applicants, offering more options and convenience.
