A local court on Tuesday acquitted Shanzay Malik, daughter of Supreme Court Judge Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan, in a hit-and-run case involving the deaths of two restaurant workers.
Judicial Magistrate Adnan Yousuf accepted the acquittal plea submitted by her legal team after reviewing arguments from both sides.

Shanzay Malik was accused of running over two employees of Savour Foods, leading to a case against her at Khanna police station. However, her lawyer, Advocate Siddique Awan, argued that the prosecution failed to provide concrete evidence, with the case being registered 11 days after the incident without any explanation for the delay.
He also stated that no video proof was presented, and the photos did not clearly identify his client.
Meanwhile, the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tufail Shahzad, maintained that forensic analysis confirmed a woman was driving the vehicle and that two witnesses had identified the accused.
The case, which remained stalled since 2022, saw legal proceedings alter charges from a non-bailable to a bailable offense.
Following the verdict, the court ruled in favor of Shanzay Malik, citing insufficient evidence for prosecution.
