Latif Afridi, a former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, was tragically killed in a shooting at the Peshawar High Court.
Despite efforts to save him, Afridi was pronounced dead upon arrival at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, where it was determined that he had been shot six times.
The police have apprehended the alleged perpetrator, Adnan, who is believed to have been responsible for the shooting incident at the high court.
They are currently conducting an investigation to determine how the individual was able to gain entry to the secure facility.
SSP Operations Kashif Abbasi confirmed that Adnan, son of Abdul Sami Afridi, has been apprehended and is currently in custody.
The police official stated that they are currently investigating a possible personal vendetta as the cause of the murder.
It may be noted that Afridi was granted bail in a murder case of Swat Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Aftab Afridi and his three family members in 2021.
The official also mentioned that they are reviewing the security measures at the high court and any shortcomings will be addressed promptly.
It is worth noting that Afridi was granted bail in the case, which he had been charged with alongside nine others.
Latif, the former president of the SCBA, had denied any involvement in the incident and had pledged to fully cooperate with authorities in the investigation.
