Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, faces allegations of sexual abuse in a lawsuit filed by his sister, Ann Altman, in federal court.
Ann Altman, 30, alleges that the abuse occurred over nearly a decade during their childhood in Missouri, beginning when she was three and continuing until she was a minor.

The lawsuit, filed Monday, claims the abuse left her with severe emotional trauma and mounting medical expenses for mental health treatment.
Sam Altman, 39, has denied the allegations, calling them “utterly untrue” in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. The statement, issued on behalf of Altman and his family, expressed deep pain over the claims.
Altman, a prominent Silicon Valley entrepreneur, rose to global fame following the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which sparked a wave of interest in artificial intelligence.
Despite his estimated $2 billion fortune from various investments, Altman has stated he holds no equity in OpenAI.
Under Missouri law, survivors of childhood sexual abuse can file claims until age 31. Ann Altman is seeking damages for emotional distress and medical costs.
She has previously spoken about the alleged abuse on social media. This lawsuit marks a serious challenge for Altman, who has been a key figure in the tech industry.
