The recent appointment of Najam Sethi as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly resulted in a loss for his son, renowned musician Ali Sethi.
According to sources, Ali Sethi had been chosen to perform the anthem for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8.
However due to potential conflicts of interest and concerns over reputation, Najam Sethi requested that his son withdraw from the gig.
It remains uncertain who will now be awarded the contract for the PSL 8 anthem.
In the past, PSL anthems have often generated significant discussion on social media.
Despite initial criticism, the previous four anthems have ultimately been well-received by fans throughout the PSL season.
The location for the opening ceremony and match of PSL 8 is also a topic of debate, as reports suggest that sponsors are pushing for it to be held in Karachi instead of the previously announced location of Multan.
The final decision on this matter is expected to be made in the coming week. The eighth edition of the PSL is set to begin
on February 13th, with the final match scheduled for March 19th.
Despite the tournament only being a month away, the official schedule has yet to be released.
