The sensitive information of popular Pakistani online shopping platform Naheed.pk’s customers is now available on the dark web after it suffered a major data leak.
The hackers are claiming to have the information of up to 23,000 user records, including 108 orders that contained personal information like user IDs, email addresses, phone numbers, and payment details.
In a statement to ProPakistani, Naheed.pk confirmed the data breach. It further added that it happened due to the compromise of a developer’s laptop, which was accessed by hackers via multiple phishing attempts.
The popular online shopping platform added that the hackers only obtained “non-critical test data” from one of their staging servers. However, they failed to gain access to the data on their live servers.
Naheed.pk has contacted the relevant law enforcement authorities to take action against the attack. The company has assured its customers that they will be taking all the necessary steps to improve data protection and cybersecurity.
