The Punjab Environmental Department has ordered the closure of illegal car wash stations, citing concerns over water scarcity. Businesses must install water recycling systems by February 28, 2025, or face a Rs100,000 fine and possible sealing of their premises.
Meanwhile, water supply from Khanpur Dam will remain suspended until February 22 due to cleaning operations. Residents have been urged to use water carefully and cooperate with authorities to prevent further depletion of resources.
