The federal government has termed the details of the gifts received by Prime Minister Imran Khan from abroad “sensitive” and refused to provide details to the citizen.
The Cabinet Division has challenged the order of the Information Commission of Pakistan in the Islamabad High Court regarding giving details to the citizen.
Assistant Attorney General Atiq-ur-Rehman Siddiqui appeared before the Islamabad High Court. The petition filed against the ICP’s order states that the exchange of gifts between the heads of state is a reflection of inter-state relations.
Releasing details of such gifts will spread media hype and unnecessary news, spreading baseless news will affect relations with different countries as well as tarnish the country’s image.
