Shab-e-Mairaj, observed on the 27th night of Rajab, holds immense significance for Muslims as it commemorates the miraculous night journey and heavenly ascension of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
On this sacred night, believers engage in special prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, and seek forgiveness, reflecting on the spiritual essence of the event. It is a time for deep contemplation and devotion for many across the Muslim world.
The Sindh government’s decision to close educational institutions allows students, teachers, and staff to honour this important occasion. Citizens are encouraged to dedicate the night to spiritual practices and unity within their communities.
The College Education Department has directed officials to ensure that all institutions adhere to the closure. Relevant authorities have also been tasked with informing students and parents to avoid any inconvenience.
Shab-e-Mairaj remains a profound event in Islamic tradition, and the holiday aims to provide an opportunity for everyone to reflect on its importance and engage in religious observances.
