The Interim Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has strongly advised against investing in the newly launched Bahria Town Peshawar as well as Citi Housing.
The provincial information minister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel in a press conference confirmed that both the aforementioned real estate projects don’t have no objection certificate (NOC).
According to Kakakhel, the government’s probe revealed that Citi Housing and Bahria Town are operating in the province without NOC and other relevant legal documents.
However, they are still advertising and selling forms.
The minister encouraged people to invest their money only in those housing schemes with NOC.
Number of offices of both the housing societies have been sealed while action will be taken against the rest soon, added Kakakhel.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team had been tasked to identify and launch inquiry against housing societies operating without NOC.
“We will welcome investment but that shouldn’t happen at the cost of the people’s hard-earned money,” he said.
