Islamabad’s local court witnessed a surprising turn in the Imsha Rehman video leak scandal on Thursday when the social media influencer pardoned the accused and did not oppose his bail.

During the hearing, Imsha’s lawyer informed the court that his client had forgiven the accused for the sake of God (Fisabillillah). In light of this, the court approved the bail request and ordered the release of the accused.

The accused’s father expressed gratitude, admitting that his son had made a mistake and was thankful for Imsha’s decision. Imsha’s lawyer also stated, “She believes he has learned his lesson. He obtained certain material and shared it, but people need to understand that distributing such content is a crime.”

FIA’s Crackdown on Cybercrime

The case initially gained attention when the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Abdul Aziz, the prime suspect, for allegedly spreading doctored and explicit videos of Imsha Rehman. Investigators tracked him down through IP logs, confirming his involvement in sharing manipulated content online.

According to FIA sources, the fake and edited videos caused severe distress to Imsha and harmed her reputation. Authorities had been pursuing legal action under cybercrime laws, with further investigations ongoing.

Imsha Rehman’s Emotional Response

Following the suspect’s arrest, Imsha opened up about the devastating impact of the incident.

“When I saw the video, I felt like my life was over. I couldn’t go to university or face people. I started receiving death threats. People behind social media think posting fake videos is fun, but they don’t realize how much it can destroy someone’s life,” she said.

Imsha emphasized that instead of responding on social media, she chose to pursue legal action. The FIA had assured that strict measures would be taken against anyone involved in spreading such content and urged people to report similar cases to help curb online harassment.
