Meanwhile, teams finishing fifth or sixth will receive $350,000 each, and those in seventh and eighth place will earn $140,000. Additionally, all eight participating teams will get a guaranteed $125,000.
Pakistan will host the tournament, its first major ICC event since 1996, with matches taking place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The competition will follow a format where eight teams are divided into two groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
ICC Chair Jay Shah highlighted the importance of the tournament, stating that it brings together the world’s best ODI teams and offers a platform for top-level competition.
He also emphasized that the increased prize money reflects ICC’s commitment to growing the sport globally.
The Champions Trophy will now be held every four years, with a Women’s Champions Trophy set to debut in 2027 as a T20 event.
