A-Levels students who missed their exams due to the unexpected law and order situation in the country on 10th, 11th and 12th May will be given one more chance.
In a meeting held in the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), it was decided that the Cambridge will arrange a retake exam in November this year.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Uzma Yousaf, Country Director, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), Ms. Maria Rehman, Director British Council, Executive Director IBCC, Chairman FBISE, and Heads of various Private Schools.
In November, students will be able to take subjects or components they missed on the aforementioned dates.
It should be noted that no additional fees will be charged from students to conduct the exam. There have been complaints of significant difference between school assessed grades and Cambridge assessed grades. Such individual cases will be re-evaluated and reassessed.
According to the procedure outlined to address the issues, schools will be responsible for submitting requests of reassessments and reevaluation to Cambridge. Furthermore, they will also be bearing 80% of the total cost while the rest will be paid by the students.
Students will reimbursed their entire fee if their grades are changed following the re-evaluation.
The Ministry of Education has also decided that it will approach top universities to make things easy for the affected students during the admission process. In addition to this, provincial governments will be directed to take similar steps.
To make sure all the complaints are effectively resolved, a complaints redressal system will be established under the Private Institution Education Regulatory Authority (PIERA).
