British Council has launched ‘One Skill Retake’ in Pakistan, aimed at simplifying the IELTS examination process.
Following the introduction of this feature, candidates now have the flexibility to retake only a single section of the IELTS test, whether it’s listening, reading, writing, or speaking.
It is pertinent to mention that no changes have been made to the format and duration of the test. This will save the candidates plenty of time by retaking only the specific section they need to improve.
According to Director of IELTS at the British Council, Andrew Mackenzie, One Skill Retake has been introduced in response to feedback from IELTS test takers.
He hoped that ‘with the right preparation and support’, the candidates ‘can achieve their best score on test day.’
Mackenzie added that the One Skill Retake was introduced to increase fairness by providing the test takers “with an opportunity to retake a single skill if they feel their performance in the first instance did not represent their English proficiency.”
How to book IELTS ‘One Skill Retake’?
Applying for the One Skill Retake is as easy as it gets.
After the result is announced, the candidates will have a time period of 60 days to improve their score in a particular skill.
Without any change in the format and test duration, you will get one more shot at improving your score but in only one of the four sections: listening, reading, writing, or speaking.
You will receive a new Test Report Form after completing the retake exam.
