Like rest of the industries that have been hit by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, cinemas have also been badly affected. Cinemas were one of the first things that were closed down following the spread of Covid-19 across the globe.
Hundreds of films were either delayed or released online around the world due to the closure of cinemas. Similarly, Pakistani cinemas also pulled the curtains down on the reviving Pakistani film industry.
Although, drive-in cinemas have been less popular compared to traditional cinemas but modern problems require modern solutions. Drive-in cinemas were the need of the hour. Most cinema owners chose to screen films for fans where they can watch movies from their cars without exposing themselves to the deadly virus.
But Pakistanis still didn’t get this facility. However, now the Islamabad district administration has decided to set up a drive-in cinema next month. This was revealed by DC Islamabad, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat.
Replying to a twitter user, who suggested to have a car theatre in Islamabad every weekend. This was indeed a good suggestion but the district administration of Islamabad had already started working on it.
As per DC Islamabad, they are already working on it. We hope, it will be set up soon. This is indeed a great news for the cinema fans.
