Pakistan cricketer Iftikhar Ahmed has slammed a Twitter user for spreading false statements attributed to him.
The user, named Nawaz, had posted a statement on Twitter that read, “Whenever we have a match against India, we feel like we are playing with street children.”
Iftikhar Ahmed shared a screenshot of the tweet and denied making the statement.
He said, “I have never made this statement, and no professional cricketer would make such a statement.”
He called on his fans to report the account for spreading hate.
He also tagged Twitter and its owner, Elon Musk, and requested that the account be banned for abusing its verified status.
The tweet has since been deleted from the Nawaz account.
