Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum could not help but admire national team fast bowler Haris Rauf.
In a TV show before the second T20 match, Brendon McCullum praised the Lahore Qalandars bowler and said that the story of Haris Rauf’s arrival in international cricket is astonishing.
The legendary cricketer also interviewed Rauf on the TV show. The former Kiwi captain said that Harris Rauf was playing tennis ball cricket three years ago.
Haris Rauf said that 500,000 youths gave trials from the platform of Lahore Qalandars. He added that he held the hardball in his hand for the first time during the trials of Lahore Qalandars. Before the trials, he used to play tennis ball cricket which is very common in Pakistan.
The national team fast bowler said that he liked bowling with hard ball and bowled the first ball at a speed of 148 and the second at a speed of 150 km per hour.
Haris Rauf said that Lahore Qalandars coach Aqib Javed selected him, after which he got a chance in PSL and then reached Big Bash League.
